First Post of 2008

It is interesting to see how quickly 2007 went, and now we are in 2008. Do you remember as a kid how we were still in the 19s? Like 1986 or 1997. Don't let life speed right by you.

Try to live life at its fullest.

Here are some tips to think about that I took from this article called: "10 Keys to Living a Long and a Happy Life":

To live a long and happy life is essential for most, if not all people. Here are my 10 tips in achieving this.

1. Connect with your spiritual or religious side. This helps you to achieve a sense of calmness and harmony.

2. Exercise at least 30 minutes daily. Not only does it help you physically, but also gives you extra energy.

3. Have less materials in your home. As the cliche goes, "Less is more." You will not have to deal with clutter or disorganization in your home or office.

4. Eat healthy and in moderation. When your body has the proper nutrients, it it will not stress itself out, or prone to illnesses and diseases.

You will become more alert and aware of yourself and your surroundings thus allowing you to make better choices and decisions.

Week of the Young Child

This week is considered Week of the Young Child. This is a week to bring awareness and different issues related to children. Many children have problems today, such as malnourishment and living in poverty. Let's make it our goal to eliminate malnourishment and poverty, for the children's sake.

Life as Part of the Education

Time never stops. It keeps going regardless if we are ready or not. Every minute of your life is a learning experience, part of your education that supplements your school education. What you do that second tends to affect you later on. You tend to connect experiences with each other when you embark on a new experience. This is how you learn. You use your past experiences to help you with your new experiences.

Learn to reflect about your life, and do it about every six months. Take the time to look at what you did for the past six months. Ask yourself these questions:

*Are you happy with the overall picture? Why or why not?
*What have you learned from the past six months?
*What was your most memorable experience?
*What was your least memorable experience?
*What was your most challenging experience?
*Now what would you like to do in the next six months? How can you reach that
goal?

You can add more questions, if you like. Anything to create thinking and reflecting. Be honest when you answer these questions because you can always plan some things in advance to avoid certain situations. Remember, life is part of your education. Use it to your advantage.
